Dot Go app was built by Dot Incorporation. Dot Go is an innovative accessibility app meant to complement (not replace) existing aids like guide dogs and canes for the low-vision community. This is a commercial app that is fully free for use and available on the iOS App Store. We care about your safety and privacy, and so we would like to explain how our technology uses your data.

How does Dot Go work?
The app uses object detection and recognition technology coupled with information from LiDAR sensors on the phone. The object recognition process is carried out by computer vision models. These models are hosted on our app and they take their input from the phone’s camera. Further, the LiDAR sensors help determine the exact position of the object in space. The app then identifies the object and alerts the user as they approach it. Further, you can customise the response of the app to be more productive.

Additional data collected by computer vision model, i.e., the information from object detection is stored only on your device in the form of a text file.
Dot Go does not collect or store any images/visual data from the camera.
